Efficiency

Even our most powerful replacement bulb (XR-10) uses only 10 watts of electricity, yet it performs on par with a 100 watt incandescent bulb and is due to the extremely efficient nature of EarthLEDs. Traditional incandescent bulbs waste 98% of their energy producing wasted heat. EarthLEDs on the other hand produce very little heat in order to maintain  brilliant light saving and even assist in cooling costs.

When you look at the costs to run traditional incandescent bulbs they simply don't make sense:

One - 100 Watt bulb costs approximately $43 dollars to run per year at 12 hours per day.   Luminous Film Offers two types of EL Panels

    * Split Electrode
    * Parallel Electrode

Split electrode EL panels / strips have a line in the center of the panel, creating two electrodes. This type electroluminescent panel is a good back light source for signs where a small center line will not detract from your graphic or where long length strips are needed for accent lighting, pathway commercial lighting or area illumination. A small amount of diffusion will hide the center line. The split electrode EL panel is available in lengths of up to several hundred feet.

Parallel electrode EL panels have a clear front electrode and an opaque rear electrode and no center line. This type panel may be more appropriate for back lighting fine-art, photographs and signs where a small line in the graphic would be objectionable.
